Selangor exco Ronnie Liu today said that he had evidence of a police report, allegedly lodged by a police officer, calling for an investigation into allegations made by Wangsa Maju MP Wee Choo Keong recently.

PKR MP Wee alleged in his blog that it was an open secret that a state executive councillor had allowed suspicious characters to loiter around the offices at the Selangor state secretariat building.

"It gives the impression that an exco member supported 'underground business activities' which affected the image of the Pakatan government," he had written in his blog.

The police report, which was presented during a press conference by Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim, showed that the report was lodged by an officer named Zulhisyam at 8pm last Sunday night.

He read out the contents of the report, which was based on an English daily's article titled: ' AG calls for immediate probe into allegations '.

"However, we don't know whether it is true if the police officer lodged the report," he said.

Liu refused to show the police report to reporters.

Pressed further as to how he came across the report, he said that it was given to him by a person who found it on the floor of the state secretariat building.

When he realised his slip, he corrected himself: "Oh no no, if Wee mentioned about a particular state exco, I could be that person too."

The menteri besar said the police have every right to investigate anything in public interest and not wait for a report.

"They don't have to lodge a police report. If they think the state secretariat building has criminals, they can come and look for themselves. I'm not stopping them," he said.
