The stench is when:

1) Parties which claim to fight for 1Malaysia but is still racially based. It is a mind-boggling contradiction.

2) They say they want racial unity but act to create fear and distrust among people of different races and religions.

3) Any open-minded person knows for any race-based party to exist, it has to keep alive the ideology and fear of race amongst close-minded people.

So Chua Jui Meng, I’m glad you have made this very obvious but difficult decision. I can imagine how tough it was to be part of the BN political system for so long and to relinquish all the power and positions that came with it. It must have been a very tough decision.

But what is truly sad is the success of a two-party system can only become a reality when more vocal and charismatic Malay leaders come to fore to destroy this elitist racism before it destroys us all as Malaysians. BN does not realise or does not care that all Malaysians will lose in the end if we are united based on race and religion but disunited as a people.

So they will continue spew racist policies and churn out ethnocentric statements in order to continue running this country where a few elitist racists will benefit from the efforts of all hardworking Malaysians. Wake up Malaysia. It’s time for a Malaysia for all Malaysians.

SS Tan: Chua Jui Meng was one of the highly respected ministers in my good books and I am delighted to have him in our struggle for a better Malaysia. In his write-up on what compelled him to ditch BN, it reflects a man who is sincere, a man who is willing to give all he has to make a difference and leave a mark in our history books for a two-party system.

The first thing Chua should do however, in my humble opinion, is to train our Pakatan Rakyat leaders to be more statesmen-like, just like he is. His resignation from MCA and joining Pakatan was very dignified. Pakatan leaders have always been in the opposition, therefore they need to be groomed to think and act like true statesmen if they are to take over the government in the future. I hope Chua will be able to contribute in that respect.

JRLee: A horrific crime had been committed right before our very own eyes. It shocked the entire nation and everyone wonders if this is a reign of terror instituted by the PM in his so-called 1Malaysia. No words can describe how Malaysians feel and not a single day pass without ever thinking about or discussing it.

Malaysians of whatever race has to wake up now as no one can escape the long arms of MACC and their inhumane interrogation tactics. Parents will have sleepless nights when their children are called to MACC office and may never see them again. After 50 years of independence, the nation had prided itself in having the tallest building but in reality has now transformed into a lawless nation. The only persons who will never be called to MACC office will be those in the corridors of power.

The Selangor menteri besar should rightfully renamed Plaza Masalam to Plaza Teoh Beng Hock in memory of an innocent soul who lost his life in the hands of those in power. It will be a constant reminder to all Malaysians that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Every Malaysian who pass by Plaza Teoh Beng Hock will always be reminded that if we leave power to those who abuse it then we will suffer the consequences as Teoh had vividly shown us in his tragic death.

BM: Don't let Teoh Beng Hock's death be in vain. Don't let Teoh's be erased from the mind by the passing of time. Kugan has already been forgotten, An assembly speaker was dragged out of his seat ignominiously. The Lingam's case is in limbo. It is an offence to mention a Mongolian woman who was ‘C4ed’. Where is Bala?

Let this very sad event be the turning point. Never again. Never, ever again.

James: Until poor Teoh BH's death plunge mystery is unraveled, we doubt that a royal commission will be of any help. Just look at history. Even if we have the answer (whether biased or not is anyone guess), what are we going to do? Let's boot these hopeless fellows out in the next GE!

A Concern Malaysian: As a Malaysian, I am shocked at what happened Teoh Beng Hock. I hope that justice will be done. I sometimes think that too much power and freedom has been given to the authorities to do anything they want.

If MACC is really truly independent, please go and investigate the former Selangor menteri besar and his RM24 million mansion. How could anyone earn this amount of money to build such a mansion? MACC, please get your act right. You are supposed to be an independent body but it seems that you’re getting directives from somewhere.
