He is the hardest working representative I have come across, and sometimes you asked the question, ‘Is it worth the effort?’ Definitely not, especially for the miserly salary and allowances he gets.

Peter Ooi: I am no fan of Ronnie Liu. But the report linking him to gangsters was hilarious and entertaining. Being an exco in the state government, his office is always open to the public. Any ordinary guy can walk in and out to consult him on problems.

Perhaps on the fateful day, some bad hats from his constituency happened to drop in to consult Ronnie on some problems related to maybe irregular rubbish collection in his area. And unfortunately this visit might be sighted by the writer (MP Wee Choo Keong), who came to the conclusion that Ronnie was actually meeting with gangsters.

Come on, common sense will tell us that gangsters would not want to meet in places which are constantly under surveillance either by the authority or public. In doing so, the gangsters would just be inviting troubles. Thus Ronnie's office would not definitely be a wise choice for their gatherings.

Mun Ahwah: I thought Ronnie, DAP, Hasan Ali and PAS handled the situation pretty well. Unlike BN where Umno speaks and everyone (other component parties) just listen. Also, kudos must be given to PAS Youth for being very mature in their responses. If Umno Youth were put in the same situation, most probably some public kissing of the 'dagger' would have been performed.

Being in a democratic society, it is encouraging to see the way all component parties in Pakatan Rakyat get involve in arguing their case. But caution and wisdom must be exercised whereby the politicians in Pakatan should focus on the issue rather than getting personal. Further, always be mindful that BN will use all their efforts (which includes using its 'newspapers') to blow or distort the issue of the day to their advantage.

Jerry Tan: I don't know Ronnie Liu, but I much rather trust him than some opportunist politicians and loose cannons like Wee Choo Keong. Good work YB, we are behind you. Keep the CCTV and other recordings safe, and use technology to track all your work!

Hibiscus: I remember reading you were one of the first who reported to the police about the PKFZ land purchase in 2004. You are a righteous man, very principled, very unlike your enemies, whether from within Pakatan or BN.

With your good record, no mudslinging can affect your reputation. Instead, those who sling mud at you will be the one who will see their reputation stuck with mud and worse. Ronnie has been one of the most hardworking DAP politicians ever. The accusation is the work of the current Pakatan group that has been employed by everyone knows who to claim its next target after Perak. As stupid as most Malaysians are, it is beginning to sink in. If Malaysians continue to buy the crap that the current federal administration sells them, then they deserve the government they get.

One thing is for sure, Khalid Ibrahim is a very capable and principled leader, he is not going to give up what he had fought fairly for without a fight till the end. The Pakatan coalition has just got to hold on and fend off these accusations by fighting back hard. If they manage to maintain their current seats or even do better in the next round of elections, then all these accusations will die off. The best choice for Malaysia is to ensure that a two-coalition system stays. Fifty-two years of indoctrination is enough.

I don't know Ronnie but I had met him twice - once at the police station when he and several others were arrested for the anti-ISA gathering at the (Petaling Jaya) Civic Centre in November last year, second time was during RPK's trial. He came to me as a friendly and humble person. I think the people (like Wee) are just jealous of him. Don't give up, Ronnie!
