On S'gor CPO sued for 'unpaid' tickets

Ong: I don't believe a small local travel agency will dare sue a state police chief merely "with malicious intent" and without just cause. Obviously RM41,868 means a lot to ticketing agent Tim Lu and he must be really desperate to dare sue a Malaysian state police chief. Any Malaysian with enough common sense will not even be so reckless as to openly harass even an ordinary police officer.

Habib RAK: All Khalid Abu Bakar needs to do is provide proof of payment. Surely as a senior police officer, he knows exactly how to establish a credible proof of payment. All of this counter-suing and claims of ‘injuries’ to him are simply unnecessary.

Jiminy Qrikert: First, the MCA president travels on private jets without paying. Now, a senior police officer travels business class, and allegedly failed to pay for it. I believe the travel company rather than the police officer. How can any public servant even consider traveling business class?

Simon: As an ex-MAS employee, there is no such discounted tickets quota meant for Malaysia Airlines (MAS) employees. There is a staff travel scheme for relatives and such tickets cannot be issued by any travel agents. Probably someone is not telling the truth. Will MAS check on this travel agent? With the LCCT-based airlines, the fare is much cheaper than the staff scheme.

On Masks may be listed as controlled item

Come on, a H1N1 death is a H1N1 death; the other complications would not have caused mortality otherwise. Treat all flu patients with anti-viral Tamiflu drugs immediately to contain the situation... most of the earlier deaths were likely due to delay in such treatments! Admit it!

ML Ho: Why make such a big fuss to control masks? The biggest concern and urgent task is to control the death toll from rising. Just ban the sales of masks outright and let everyone buy from Ministry of Health (MOH) at cost. Everyone can drive all the way to MOH and should be glad to get the mask at cost. I'm sure our DPM would be very happy to manage the sales counter at MOH.

Malaysian Are Not Stupid: When the government cannot control the price of anything, the easiest solution for them is make it a controlled item. So since they cannot control corruption, the DPM should also make corruption a controlled item.

On Perak politics sink to new low

Bobby: We Perakians certainly can't wait to see how this BN fellow will survive through a democratic voting system. BN’s low-class frog culture led by Najib Abdul Razak as the head of BN in Perak certainly painted an ugly and true picture of our new PM. BN is willing to do anything to the extend of grabbing, snatching and robbing from the Perak voters.

Shame on you, Zambry Abd Kadir. The scene of the Perak speaker being dragged out of the State Assembly will not be forgotten and pardoned. Malaysian politics reached a historical low point in full view of rakyat Malaysia. How dirty and shameless our politicians are in willing to lower themselves merely because of power, lower than any scumbag in the society!

Wira: Everyone knows that the idea to give freehold land titles to kampung and Kampung Baru folks was initiated by the Pakatan government. Umno tried to turn this granting of freehold land into a racial issue and Najib even invoked the National Land Code to try to stop this. Some corrupt frogs might have deserted the Pakatan cause, but the people don't forget easily.

GDS: Will the state government of Selangor or for that matter, other state governments held by Pakatan Rakyat, last until the next general elections? At the rate it's going on in Selangor, they are all out to bring down the government. So remember - people power! It is in your hands and the government that you choose, you will have to live with it. Prepare yourself now, and not when general elections come in 2012.

On DAP needs to fortify Pakatan partnership

Aramsawafer: The DAP should stay alert on the onslaught of Umno. They are using various means to tempt the DAP leaders to react foolishly and wrongly. Under normal democratic rule of law and circumstance, it would be just like a debate. But Umno has the various means and machinery under their disposal such as the media, MACC, PDRM, and the judiciary.

Najib has made it very clear he wants to take Selangor. He did not say how or whether by crooked means. But by their action so far, it is seemingly by crook, not hook. I hope that the DAP has good strategists to adopt the ‘Art of War’ to fight this psychological warfare with Umno.

They will continue to use racist remarks and Islam to tempt you into the battlefield. You can rebuke them but do not touch on Islam or race. Think through carefully in your respond. Do not act rashly and find means to answer them. If you can't do that, let their Malay brothers and sisters in PAS and PKR deal with them.

On Gobala charged with obstructing police

Thanaletchumy: I know the YB N Gobalakrishnan personally. By nature, he is a person who fights for his rights. I personally feel the police did not handle the situation professionally. I heard the state police chief giving the press statement. I am shocked to see him so emotional and hostile while replying to the reporters after the melee with the Padang Serai MP.

Concerned: Well, the video showed Gobalakrishnan pushing some policemen away. I did not see him strike anyone. By right, he should stop when cautioned by the police as he already got his point across. Even Ronnie Liu was seen restraining him.

I guess Gobalakrishnan got carried away and was trying to be a people's champion. That shouldn't be the way. Follow Mahatma Gandhi's style. Passive resistance.
