The police have set up a special squad to investigate the molotov cocktail incident at the Klang branch of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) here early yesterday.

Klang police chief ACP Mohamad Mat Yusop said the squad would probe the motive behind the attack.

"So far there is no new development and we have not summon anybody to give a statement other than an MACC officer who lodged the report," he told reporters after disposing off computerised slot machines in Klang today.

A four-wheel-drive vehicle of the MACC Klang branch was damaged by six molotov cocktails hurled into the parking lot of the old Klang Land and District Office in Jalan Kota here between 2 and 3am yesterday.

He said there was no CCTV in the area and the police had recovered fragments of the molotov cocktails.

On whether the incident was related to the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock, Mohamad said it was premature to make a conclusion.

Earlier, Mohamad and Klang Municipal Council president Mislan Tugiu destroyed 368 computerised slot machines worth RM184,000.

Mohamad said until July this year, the police seized 3,338 computerised slot machines and arrested 291 operators and gamblers at 306 premises here.
