Federal Court strikes out Buah Pala residents' application

Petrico: While I sympathise with the villagers, I believe they have pushed their luck too far. With all the odds stacked against them, I am baffled as to why they did not choose the offer negotiated on their behalf by the Penang state government. Perhaps they may also wonder why those who have so keenly fought for their cause are no longer there to help them pick up the pieces of their lives again.

Daniel Liang:

Hopefully, this would bring an end to P Uthayakumar's political struggle. He has done a disservice to the Kampung Buah Pala villagers, and they will be left with nothing. Will he bear full responsibility by providing accommodation and other needs for these displaced people? Or will he turn his back and walk away?

Wira: I pity those Kampung Buah Pala folks who were led to believe that they had a very strong case.

Habib Rak: I do hope the remaining residents would still be given options by the developer to own a home. I also hope the developer will show added grace and understanding.

Rohaizat rubbishes second wife claim

Dood:

He's accusing PAS of attempting a character assassination. That's funny, because the way I see it I don't think PAS is responsible for destroying his reputation.

Wira: Perhaps the first person Rohaizat should sue is his former law firm partner who spilled beans on him yesterday. Let's see if he has the sagacity and courage to bring justice to himself and his partner.

Horatio Caine: In Islam, it is not wrong to practice polygamy. So, why not admit it? Don't wait until Hafizah appears for PAS.

Daniel Liang: The national registration department should have a record to indicate whether or not Rohaizat has a second wife. Regardless, this Rohaizat dude already has too much baggage for Umno in the by-election. His political career is pretty much over before it even starts.

Shahrizat: Women say no to 'DAP puppet'

Lusiapa: What moral authority has she got to tell the voters who to vote for when the constituents of Lembah Pantai overwhelmingly gave her the boot on March 8, 2008. Shahrizat, don't you have any sense of shame by coming here?

Chee Hoe Siew:

It is interesting to me that this is a Bernama article and many objected to it. To me it is valuable information because it tells PAS, DAP and PKR of their weakness and they can act fast in patching it.

Dennis Madden: Is she trying to detract attention away from the real issues? The country is falling apart and she wants to talk about potholes and drains.

King's ransom for a guardhouse

Pb&j: It doesn't get any clearer than this. How is DBKL going to even deny this? Kudos to Mampu Jaya for standing its ground.

The Truth: DBKL is also sitting on a huge heap of rubbish, where corruption is the order of the day. We must bring back local council elections and change the way Kuala Lumpur is ruled.

Khor Joo Hong: I suggest MACC investigate all the Majlis Perbandaran!

Christine Yong: Thank you for raising this. If not for a strong opposition coalition which is now the check and balance for the country, such incidents would be swept under the carpet.

Murali: How about MBPJ, MBSJ, and all the Majlis Perbandaran in the country? Is this happening everywhere?

Khalid ordered to pay Bank Islam RM66 mil

Eddy: Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim must pay his debt owed to the bank. Hutang tetap hutang (debts are still debts), and please do not politicise the issue. Khalid should have settled his debt before he entered active politics or accepted the post of MB.

Arasu: This case is not over. But it's certain the opposition in Selangor now will try and make this an issue in Permatang Pasir to neutralise the mess created by Rohaizat.
