State assemblyperson for Ajil Rosol Wahid has denied a news portal report that he and eight other Terengganu Umno state assemblypersons proposed to join PKR.

rosol wahid Rosol said he and other Umno assemblymen had never discussed the matter although he admitted there were still internal problems in the party's state leadership.

"Such a matter will not take place in our group. The rumours are only to create an unpleasant situation among the Umno state assemblypersons.

"What is sure is that we are still BN representatives...there is no compromise on that. What is actually happening is ensuring our government is strong and we have confidence in the leadership of Najib (Abdul Razak)," he said.

Rosol was asked to comment on a Malaysian Insider report that nine Umno assemblypersons led by him had agreed to join PKR and would get together with eight Pas assemblypersons to form a new government in Terengganu.

However, according to the portal's report, that move was disrupted when Terengganu PAS commissioner Harun Taib, who is also head of the PAS Dewan Ulama, did not agree to the plan as he was said to be more comfortable cooperating with Menteri Besar Ahmad Said.

Asked about the non-involvement of BN reps in the question and answer session and debates in the two days the assembly sat, Rosol admitted to it as there were still internal problems among the party's representatives with the mentri besar that had not yet been resolved.

"In fact we have not been informed about the latest developments in the state's development. How are we to defend (the state government's stand in the assembly) when we ourselves do not have information?" he said.

Meeting with PM

Without wanting to clarify the internal problems, he said the matter had been raised during a meeting with the prime minister on Aug 23.

Rosol said the Umno president also gave assurance that the political crisis in Terengganu would be resolved quickly.

On the statement by Umno vice-president who is also the Terengganu Umno liaison committee chair, Hishammuddin Hussein, lately that unity among Umno leaders in the state was strong, Rosol declined to comment.

He said his side still had the confidence of the majority of the BN assemblypersons and hoped that the political crisis could be resolved as soon as possible especially to face the 13th general election.

Meanwhile, Harun who is also the assemblyperson for Munir said he did not know about the nine Umno assemblypersons leaving Umno and joining PKR and for them to consolidate with eight PAS assemblypersons to form a new government in the state.

He said he had met with PKR advisor Anwar Ibrahim who had a ceramah recently in Kemaman but they did not discuss the formation of a new government.

"Whatever is being said is not to my knowledge," he said.

Terengganu has 32 state seats. Umno has 23 seats and PAS eight. MCA has one seat
