Pakatan Rakyat’s action of holding a Perak assembly ‘sitting’ yesterday has given the public another opportunity to appraise their conduct, said BN Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir.

sivakumar and zambry at perak state assembly 130509 04 He said the incident showed the real side of the Pakatan assemblypersons where they had no respect for the law although they claimed what they did was legal and democratic.

"I think the people can see now who they really are," he told reporters after chairing the Perak Water Authority's board of directors' meeting, in Ipoh, today.

He was asked to comment on Pakatan assemblypersons' attempt to hold their "sitting" at a hotel here after failing to force their way into the state secretariat building yesterday.

They need not come

Asked on the Pakatan’s statement that speaker R Ganesan had no legal standing to call for a state assembly sitting and that the notice was invalid, Zambry said the Pakatan assemblypersons needed not turn up if they did not want to.

"No need to come. I'm not the one calling for the assembly sitting as I'm not the speaker. Let's see whether they keep their word. Can we trust this kind of people?" he said.

Yesterday, three Pakatan assemblymen and four members of the public were arrested for failing to heed police order to disperse while the police were trying to prevent a group of assemblymen from holding an ‘assembly sitting’ in the Perak Darul Ridzuan building.

The police had obtained a court order to prevent the group from coming within 200 metres from the gate of the building and a commotion ensued when the assemblymen refused to abide, claiming that the police order did not apply to them.

They then held their ‘sitting’ at a hotel here where they passed three resolutions.
