MCA president Ong Tee Keat wants the party's disciplinary board to be on the lookout for money politics ahead of its extraordinary general meeting (EGM).

The transport minister said MCA viewed the matter seriously and would not compromise on money politics in whatever form.

NONE "Perhaps our disciplinary board or MCA's secretariat can follow up on this. We cannot compromise on any kind of graft or commonly known as money politics," he told reporters after holding a meeting with Pahang MCA members in Kuantan today.

Prior to this, MCA secretary-general Wong Foon Meng had stated that there had been numerous complaints from the grassroots alleging "signatures were being bought" for the convening of a rival party EGM.

Supporters of expelled deputy chief Chua Soi Lek are gearing up for their own EGM in the bid to reinstate their leader and oust Ong.

‘The truth will come out’

On his meeting with Najib Abdul Razak to update the prime minister regarding the probe on the Port Klang Free Zone scandal yesterday, Ong said :"We had a good meeting, comprehensive and we are confident and hopeful of our way forward."

Prior to the meeting, Ong had been questioned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission regarding the allegation by Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KDSB) chief executive officer Tiong King Sing that the MCA boss had accepted a RM10 million donation from him.

KDSB is the turnkey contractor of the project.

On his meeting with the Pahang MCA members today, Ong said it was to update them on the latest developments concerning the party and added that he was confident that all the allegations hurled against him would have no effect as "finally the truth will come out".
