New site, also in Sect 23, found for temple

Rayfire : (Mentri Besar) Khalid Ibrahim, with all due respect, I don't it is a good idea to maintain the temple location to be in Section 23 after all this unwanted commotion by the so-called 'residents'. What difference will 100 metres make for the residents?

I am sure Hindus want a temple that is free of complications. After seeing the way they treated you and (Shah Alam MP) Khalid Samad, I doubt if the temple will be on safe grounds. There is no point risking their lives on a daily basis.

Is this what the PM has been preaching about 1Malaysia? So can any resident decide what they want and what they don't? Where has religious tolerance in our country gone to?

I find some residents of Section 23 to be very immature and trying to fan hot air just to be popular. It is very shameful that in these days, we still have a bunch of clowns trying to bring down our beloved nation to the brink. 1Malaysia is for all races!

Batupahat : I came from a beautiful town where everyone lives peacefully and in harmony regardless of religion and culture. Lately sensitive issues like Malay rights and religion have been played up by politicians that are losing their grip on the gold mine.

Kim : Kudos to the Pakatan Rakyat government of Selangor. This is walking the talk to treat all races equally. Remember that it took 20 years for Catholics to build a church in Shah Alam and finally it was located in an industrial area and forbidden to look like a church.

Kevin Phang : Syabas Khalid. A government of the people, by the people and for the people. What honest Abe speaks about is befitting of Pakatan in Selangor. I now await the troublemakers to say that 400 metres is not enough.

R2d2 : Khalid Ibrahim is the most approachable, compassionate and responsive MB Selangor has seen in the last 25 years. He inspires friendly cooperation, trust and love - unlike his predecessors who inspired only disgust. Except for Hasan Ali, the rest of the Selangor state exco is doing a wonderful job. I have never felt so proud and happy to be living in Selangor.

P Dev Anand Pillai : Who says Pakatan is unable to govern? Remember the MB is a former chairman of a large plantation group, he would have seen his fair share of Hindu temples in the estates that he has governed over. He would know that all the Hindus are asking for is a small plot for a temple to be erected for worship.

Syabas to Pakatan for being proactive, and sensitive to the needs of the people, regardless of race. It will show the hooligans who called this humble, wise and fair leader all sorts of profanities that he is not cowed by their show of violence and is a leader for all regardless of race or religion.

Choo Heng Boo : I believe this is the best solution. At least Khalid has gone down to meet the people despite all the opposition. Residents of Section 23 and Hindus, please come to a compromise for a win-win situation. At least you have a MB that is willing to meet the people and back up with action rather than his predecessor who talked a lot but did little.

A handful of people having a peaceful protest carrying roses and banners with candles get arrested but a band of tyrants with a bleeding cow's head walking on the streets don't alarm the police.

Suhakam : Sadly though, this is an indictment of the rest of the Muslim population who, by their silence, appear to support the un-Islamic antics of the protesters. Kudos to those Muslims who took the risk of visiting the temple on Friday night to show their solidarity with the Hindus there. Some who know no better may question their faith. But real Muslims whose iman is strong will not fear such contact.

Myop101 : I am surprised that the state government acted so quickly and of all people, it is the Pakatan leaders themselves going to the field. Then again, I do hope they would quickly resolve this issue so as they can concentrate on other matters of the state.

The state government should not be cowed by bigots, and they should stand firm to find a solution for all. As long as the state government finds a solution that is acceptable to most of the residents where their practical concerns are resolved, I think it is better than bending backwards to yield to the bigots.

Meloya : There you go! Who says the Pakatan cannot run the state government? Problem solved within a record time of less than 72 hours. Those hooligans at the dialogue session with the MB should apologise.
