Despite the silence maintained by Umno leaders in the mainstream media over Puteri Umno chief Azalina Othmans alleged corruption and gay affair, websites exposed her lesbian affair, as a mosquito newspaper.

The website accused former Puteri Umno exco members of having a hand in the report, and also criticised them for washing dirty linen in public.

The report also attacked Perdana Sari s chief editor and publisher Khalid Jafri as a paid hack out to discredit Azalina by publishing the damaging articles.

Perdana Sari , which hit the streets March 31, carried stories of Azalinas alleged affair in its second, third and fourth issues. Khalid also penned the controversial book, 50 dalil kenapa Anwar tidak boleh jadi PM (50 reasons why Anwar Ibrahim cannot become the PM).

Pro-reformasi and pro-PAS websites have also joined in the fray with a barrage of comments and commentaries. Harakahdaily published several letters to the editor condemning Azalina based on the allegations.

Exclusive interview

The Selangor Daily Dot Com published an exclusive interview with Azalinas alleged lover whom the website identified as the wife of a successful businessman and restaurateur in Kuala Lumpur.

In the interview, the supposed lover said she was saddened by the reports but would continue serving Puteri Umno to prove the allegation baseless.

When asked about her husbands reaction to the report, she said he was very upset initially and was considering legal action against the tabloid. However, after discussing the matter with his friends, he decided against it, but would continue to monitor the situation closely.

Luxury fleet

Queried about the Mercedes Benz that was allegedly given to her as a birthday present by Azalina, she replied that her husband has a fleet of more than 10 luxury cars, including three Rolls-Royce.

She told Selangor Daily Dot Com that she bought the Mercedes Benz with her own money.

When asked the identity of her husband, she replied that it was sufficient to say that he is a successful businessman and a close friend of the Sultan of Selangor.

Asked for the probable reason for the damaging exposé', she said it was possibly done out of spite.

She said she had recently filed a report with Puteri Umno against a member.

On her relationship with Azalina, she said it was as usual and there was nothing for her to be worried about as nothing is going on between them.
