PKR's Port Klang state assemblyperson Badrul Hisham Abdullah has once again failed to turn up for an appointment with Selangor Mentri Besar Khalid Ibrahim.

According to Khalid, they were supposed to meet yesterday but this did not materialise.

As a result of this, Khalid said the meeting will be postponed until after the Hari Raya celebrations next week.

Badrul, who has been missing in action since August, is rumoured to have accepted Barisan Nasional's offer to jump ship.

The rumour gained momentum when Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak vowed to recapture the state which BN lost in the last general election to Pakatan Rakyat.

'Personal problems'

However, Khalid disclosed that state exco member Rodziah Ismail managed to meet Badrul three days ago.

According to him, Badrul "seems willing" to have a discussion.

Khalid said Badrul also replied a show-cause letter sent by the state government on why he failed to perform as an elected rep.

NONE "Among others, Badrul claimed that he had personal problems," he said.

On another matter, the mentri besar announced that the state government will give RM500 Hari Raya special cash assistance to civil servants in the support group in Selangor.

He said the special cash assistance is to help civil servants through the festive celebration.

A total of 7,588 permanent staff, 952 contract workers and 230 part-timers will benefit from the exercise.

Khalid said the payment will cost the state government RM4.385 million.
