Multiple Grammy award-winner Beyonce Knowles has reportedly agreed to tone down her show for the Malaysian leg of her world tour, following opposition by hardline Islamists over her

racy costumes and dance moves.

Beyonce, who is due to perform in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 25 as part of her Beyonce I Am ... world tour, has reportedly reached an "amicable understanding" over her costumes for the show,

Malaysian organisers said.

beyonce knowles 190909 PAS had opposed the show, saying Beyonce's costumes and performances were "too sexy" for local audiences.

Organisers declined to give details of the new dress-code agreement, but said the concert would likely silence critics.

"We are confident that Beyonce's concert (will) put Malaysia back on track in presenting A-list international pop concerts and further boost tourism," organiser spokesman Goh Yoke Leng was quoted as saying by the Star daily.

PAS' youth wing has slammed the concert, saying Beyonce's shows promoted "hedonism" and would mislead local youths.

Beyonce had been scheduled to perform in Malaysia in 2007, but decided to pull out after PAS mounted strong objections to the show.

The Islamic party has in the past opposed scheduled concerts by numerous famous Western female performers, including Rihanna, Avril Lavigne, the Pussycat Dolls and Gwen Stefani.
