The Attorney-General's application to declare null and void the Selangor government circular prohibiting state officials from giving statements to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) after office hours has been fixed for mention on Nov 24.

Shah Alam Civil High Court deputy registrar Mankiranjit Kaur also fixed the date for case management.

Yusmadi Yusoff, counsel for the Selangor government told reporters that mention of the case fixed for today had to be postponed as he had not received a sealed copy of the application to strike out the application by Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail.

"The Selangor government has not received a sealed copy of the application to be sent to the Attorney-General for his consideration and reply," he said outside court today.

Yusmadi said the delay could be due to the relocation of the administration division of the Shah Alam Civil High Court to another building.

On Aug 20, the Attorney-General filed an application to declare as null and void the circular dated July 28 issued by state secretary Ramli Mahmud, named as defendant together with the Selangor government.

In his affidavit, Abdul Gani said the circular was a directive from the administration and as such, state government officials who did not comply could face disciplinary action.

The Selangor government, in its application to strike out the Attorney-General's application argued that the application should come from MACC which was affected directly by the circular and as such the AG no "locus standi" in the matter.

The circular was issued after Teoh Beng Hock, political secretary to

Selangor exco member Ean Yong Hian Wah was found dead at Plaza Masalam in July.
