PAS president Fadzil Noor was warded at the Kuala Terengganu hospital here after he complained of chest pains upon arrival at the Sultan Mahmud Airport last night.

A Bernama report quoted the hospital's acting director, Dr Mohammad Omar, as saying that the opposition leader was having heart problems.

Fadzil is in Terengganu to attend a closed-door meeting with opposition front leaders, scheduled for last night and today.

Meanwhile, Terengganu Menteri Besar and PAS deputy president Abdul Hadi Awang said Fadzil began complaining of chest pains at about 8.30pm.

"He felt it after arriving here last night and (was) rushed to the Kuala Terengganu Hospital.

His condition is now stable," he told reporters after visiting Fadzil in the hospital's cardiology unit today.

According to Abdul Hadi, Fadzil was also believed to be suffering from diabetes.
