Jacob George: This is indeed embarrassing! Hospitals are to be high security areas but they are not. Medico-legal cases are fast becoming a norm. Even without that, as professionals and as an institution, we need to practice a great deal of accountability, transparency and credibility.

Once again a Malaysian hospital and its administration is shown to be a monumental disgrace. Meanwhile, the media controlled by political parties and interests have already gone to town with its spin with no neck for serious investigative journalism unlike Malaysiakini.

Both the Sujatha and Kugan cases had this. But my sources tell me there will be a difference in the Teoh Beng Hock's case thanks to experts brought in from Thailand who will put most of our 'experts' to shame!

Nil : If DNA from an unrelated case can be found on a case, then strict procedures relating to collection, safe-storage and analysis have not been followed. Until the administrators know what they are doing, all laws relating to DNA evidence should be abolished and erased from the law books.

As to the revelation of the identity of the person whose DNA was found on Teoh, it smells fishy.

Kgen : Are we stupid? The DNA was recovered from places in the belt and blazer where it was unlikely to be contaminated by external DNA left on the operating table. Of course, pinning the DNA on an unrelated dead person is convenient. This shows that DNA evidence is only as good or honest as the person handling it.

Lonestar: One has plenty to worry if such contamination can occur when a post-mortem is carried out in one of the most advanced hospital in the country.
