Kota Alam Shah assemblyman M Manoharan is completely free of the Internal Security Act (ISA), confirmed the Selangor police chief.

manoharan first visit to selangor state assembly building 110509 04 "He was freed by the (Home) ministry," state police chief Khalid Abu Bakar told reporters when asked to comment that Manoharan had left for Tanzania to attend the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) conference from Sept 28 to Oct 6.

Malaysiakini has yesterday reported that Manoharan ( right ) was allowed to travel overseas earlier this week.

On May 9, Manoharan was released from the ISA, on condition that he report at the Klang police headquarters every Monday, between 8am and 5pm, and be in good behaviour.

Request for travel rejected previously

Asked when Manoharan was fully released, Khalid said he was unsure.

NONE It was previously reported that Manoharan had sought police permission to attend the conference but his request was turned down .

At the time, Khalid ( left ) had said that police rejected the assemblyman's request as he was released from the ISA with certain conditions.

The CPA conference is an annual international event attended by state legislative assembly representatives from Commonwealth countries.
