Controversial state PAS commissioner Hasan Ali today cleared the air regarding his relationship with party colleague Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad, which seems to have soured since the Selcat debacle.

hasan ali umno pas selangor talk quality hotel 300708 03 Speaking to reporters during a Hari Raya open house at his residence in Taman Tun Dr Ismail today, Hasan (left) said "Khalid is the one who always says that we have a bad relationship".

"That is why I prefer not to comment on (our relationship). Usually, if I say something about him in the media, he would later make some comments about me in his blog," said Hasan.

It is public knowledge that both Khalid and Hasan have been waging a cold war since the state exco criticised the Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat)'s public hearing.

This had peeved many Pakatan Rakyat leaders, including Khalid, who said Hasan's stance is not consistent with the opposition coalition's principles.

However, Khalid has denied that he had asked Hasan to quit and said he was prepared to face any disciplinary action taken against him.

Selcat is conducting a public inquiry into how BN state representatives spent RM500,000 of the annual state allocations within two months before the general election in March last year.

During the inquiry, several district officers had admitted that they rubber-stamped approvals for state allocations during the period in question to help BN for political purposes.

No comments, no offence

Hasan also refused to comment on any disciplinary action which was reportedly mulled by the PAS management committee, Dewan Harian.

"Furthermore, the statement (to take disciplinary action) did not come out from my mouth... it came out from someone else and I do not wish to comment on that one," he said.

As a commissioner, he added that he needs to be careful with any statement that he makes, especially on any other PAS leader.

"I do not want to embarrass any of my party colleagues," said Hasan.

Yesterday, PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali had also confirmed that he had not received any official letter calling for disciplinary action to be taken against the Shah Alam MP.

"I have not received any letter. Also, disciplinary action can only be taken if the disciplinary committee holds a meeting to discuss it.

"But as of now, we have not heard anything about action being taken against either Khalid or Hasan," he had said.
