DPM: Don't blame everything on BN
Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said the opposition had twisted many facts to confuse the people and at the same time placed all blame on the BN government.
Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said the opposition had twisted many facts to confuse the people and at the same time placed all blame on the BN government.
He said the case of the cow-head incident and the building of the Hindu temple in Shah Alam happened in a state ruled by PKR but it was linked to the BN.
"This was said to be a sensitive matter, this was not the doing of the BN government, this was the opposition in Selangor, they twist and twist to say it was us, Selangor is their state," Muhyiddin said at a Hari Raya function at Taman Politeknik in Port Dickson last night.
The BN, he said, wanted to have a national integration policy, so there was no reason for them to accuse the government whereas actually it was the opposition and Selangor Mentri Besar Khalid Ibrahim who should be responsible.
Out of concern that the situation would deteriorate to the point of racial clashes, the BN government intervened and took action, he said.
"Are we that cruel... I don't want the people to be confused any more, and Anwar will come down in a day or two to campaign in Bagan Pinang. PAS too has tried to postpone the Bagan Pinang by-election by alleging that there were irregularities," he said.
During the Permatang Pauh by-election, the BN too had discovered irregularities but did not seek for a postponement, he said.
‘We did not let PKFZ happen’
"Another case is the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ). This is another case of criminal breach of trust that shocked the nation. We discussed it in the cabinet. I want to say that it was not the decision of the government.
“We did not allow it to happen. In the investigation, it was disclosed that there was a possibility of malpractice," he said.
This occurred because there were irresponsible officers and the government would not protect any officer that destroyed government projects, Muhyiddin added.
