New Straits Times headlined that Malaysia will continue to extend aid to the victims of the Sumatran earthquake victims, despite threat of invasion by Indonesia's Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat (Bendera).

Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian both led with news of the school arson in Johor by a PMR candidate attempting to avoid sitting for the examination.

Utusan also reported that Muhyiddin Yasin noted that PAS is facing more pressure and getting more desperate in their campaign to win the Bagan Pinang by-elections. Also headlined is Malaysia's continued aid to Indonesia, despite threats of invasion by (Indonesian) "minority groups".

Tamil newspapers

Makkal Osai led with former MIC treasurer-general M Mahalingam urging MIC president S Samy Vellu to keep his hands off MIC's educational arm, Maju Institute of Education Development.

Tamil Nesan led with news that MIC was successful in regaining the support of the Indian community in Bagan Pinang estates.

Malaysia Nanban headlined Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announcing that schools would have two days of public holiday in conjunction with this year's Deepavali festival.

New Straits Times noted that the invasion threat by Bendera should not be taken too seriously. However, it is important for Malaysia and Indonesia to understand that our shared culture comes from a shared past. A historical understanding will allow for recognition of cultural evolution across borders.

Both Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian pointed out that the 1Malaysia concept can be used as a model for the global community.

The principles of mutual understanding, trust and cooperation can be utilised by global citizens to create 1Region and even 1World for greater harmony and prosperity worldwide.
