Pakatan Rakyat state assemblypersons want Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to guarantee their personal safety during next week's tabling of the 2010 state budget.

Nga also alleged that a gun was unlawfully brought into the assembly by a police personal to frighten the Pakatan members.

"We fear a bigger repercussion against us during the Oct 28 budget sitting as BN is fortifying the assembly with extra security personnel and more police force will be deployed to prevent us from exercising our democratic rights as the legally appointed state government in the House,"he lamented.

He also did not discount the possibility of police arresting Sivakumar as BN members had lodged several reports against the speaker to prevent him from conducting the scheduled House proceedings.

However, Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir ( left ) during a press conference on Thursday, had put the blame on Pakatan for causing the chaos in the House and took to task the media for only highlighting the Pakatan version of the trouble and for putting the blame on the BN.

He said this is unfair, as the media failed to highlight the BN's version as to who had actually stirred up the trouble.

When wastage of public funds by certain departments reported in the Auditor-General's report was pointed out to Zambry, he said the discrepancies did not come about during his tenure of office which started only in February.

However, he promised to ensure that public funds in future are not wasted but fully utilised for the benefit of the public.

Nga also referred to the A-G's report highlighting short comings in the mismanagement of public funds by government departments running into the millions which could have used to uplift the living standards of millions of Malaysian living below the poverty line.

"Why must the BN ministries and departments keep on wasting precious taxpayers' money as if the money belonged to them," he lashed out.

"Only the power of the people can change this sickening mindset of the BN government by throwing them out in the coming general election," he said.

Yesterday, Najib had stated that he will take stern action against those who had wasted public funds as reported by the A-G.
