A paper on the procedural system and internal controls in the spending of the allocations of members of parliament and state assemblypersons will be tabled by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to a special panel on Nov 24.

MACC deputy chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamad said the paper will be tabled to the MACC's Corruption, Prevention and Consultation Panel which is scheduled to meet on that day.

"After it has been tabled, then on the proposals and improvements by them, if any, only then will we forward the proposals to the relevant bodies," he told reporters today.

The paper is the work of a special team set up to handle cases of the possible misappropriation of allocations by members of parliament and state assemblypersons.

The special team is handled by the MACC's Inspection and Consultancy Division.

Abu Kassim declined to comment when asked about the allegation that Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and his family had sponsorship to go on 'haj' pilgrimmage.
