The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has confirmed receiving a report from the police over PKR vice-president Azmin Ali's ownership of shares worth RM2 million.

In a statement today, the MACC said it would take further action and asked the public not to speculate on the matter.

Yesterday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan had said in a news conference that the police had surrended documents pertaining to Azmin and wife Shamsidar Tahrin, owning shares worth RM2 million, to the MACC for further investigation as the commission had opened an investigation paper on the case previously.

Musa said the Securities Commission was also informed of the case as it involved buying of shares.
