The Home Ministry today revealed that the government has lodged a police report on leaked cabinet documents on the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project which posted in popular blog.

In a written answer to Klang parliamentarian Charles Santiago, Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said that a police report was lodged by the finance ministry on Sept 16.

bagan pinang by election nomination 031009 hishammuddin hussein "The case is still being investigated by the police and classified under Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972, where disclosing government secrets is wrong," said Hishammuddin.

"The government will not hesitate to take stern action against any party who leak official government secrets based.

Santiago asked for clarification of the cabinet's memo on PKFZ which was published on fugitive blogger Raja Petra's blog Malaysia Today .

He also wanted to know if the posting of the contents breached the law and what follow up action was taken by the government.

"A thorough criminal investigation is being being undertaken by the police to determine the source of the leaked document, whether it was a technical glitch, human error or done bya culprit.

"The government has also appointed a special task force led by the chief secretary to look into the Auditor-General's report on the PKFZ," said Hishammuddin.

The leaked documents made its way to Malaysia Today several months back before the Auditor-General's and the Public Accounts Committee's (PAC) reports were made public.

The PAC recommended that former Transport Minister Chan Kong Choy and former PKFZ general manager OC Phang be probed by the anti-graft officials for criminal breach of trust.
