MCA Youth chief Dr Wee Ka Siong has expressed his confident that two-thirds of the MCA elected central committee members would resign to enable fresh party polls to be held.

His faction need another seven to quit to automatically force fresh polls for the whole central committee.

"We are trying to convince other CC members to resign as we are still short of the number required by the party's constitution," he told Bernama after attending a ceremony to rename a bridge linking Bukit Bunga here to Ban Buketa in southern Thailand as Friendship Bridge, today.
