The police have no allocation to aid innocent victims of police chase, said Ipoh police chief ACP Azisman Alias.

"What happened during police operations were beyond our control but we will assist the victims in the investigations and court proceedings," he told reporters in Ipoh today.

He was commenting on a call by MIC Perak secretary R Ganesan that the police should aid three members of a family, who were seriously injured, in a police chase in Jalan Chemur here two days ago.

Azisman said the police had taken swift action by arresting a suspect within minutes of the accident and he would be charged under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act for reckless driving.

In the 2pm incident, motorcyclist Kogilawani, 34, and his children, G Shagina, 10, and G Danesh Kumar, 14, who riding pillion, were seriously injured when they were knocked down by a car, which was pursued the police.

The family were returning home to Taman Mas, Ulu Chepor.

Danesh Kumar, who was a disabled person, died from his injuries at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here today while Kogilawani and Shagina were still warded at the hospital.
