After going on and on and on fueled by the world's longest lasting battery, the Energizer Bunny now seeks to make its mark in the dark, with Malaysia’s inaugural night marathon.

Thousands are expected to take up the challenge to run in the dark when battery giant Energizer, together with sports brand Adidas and shaver label Shick join together to organise the memorable event.

Energizer Malaysia brand manager Joshua Leong said they have successfully organised night runs similar to this all over the world.

He extended Energizer's invitation to all Malaysians, especially avid runners, to experience the different sensory sensations of running en masse with thousands of others after sundown.

"Ever wondered what it would be like to run a full marathon, a half marathon or a 10-km run in the dark with your personal running space lit up just for you?

"Then make a date with the upcoming Night Marathon 2010 scheduled for March 27 in the Klang Valley."

Exciting and impactful event

Leong said that running in the dark is something not many people, including experienced runners, have done. Most runs in Malaysia are always held in the early morning.

As such, he assured that contestants can look forward to an exciting and impactful event.

The venue for the race, which is to be announced later, is set to promise a conducive experience for runners who will be given special headlights to enhance the ambience and excitement of running in the dark, albeit safely.

This event which has already made a global mark with night races held in South Korea, Argentina and South Africa since 2007, is now set to excite and inspire Malaysians to take up the challenge.
