Police today arrested two Selangor PKR Youth members for distributing seditious leaflets near a mosque.

The two who were detained at 2.10pm after Friday prayers were Selangor Youth chief Khairul Anwar Ahmad Zainuddin and Kelana Jaya deputy chief Azizi Ahamad.

Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar said both were detained at the Shah Alam police headquarters under Section 4 (1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Printing and Publishing Act 1984 .

"We are disappointed with them for not respecting the mosque and carrying out such activities on Maal Hijrah," he told reporters here today.

Meanwhile, PKR national Youth chief Samsul Iskandar Md Akin told Bernama that police had recorded statements from both but were still being detained.

Khalid has yesterday warned the public not to join any illegal demonstration.
