Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) Youth deputy chief Philip Ngo is steadfast in his decision to contest the number two post in the party at its upcoming polls.

The incumbent is Peter Nyarok Entrie, who is also Sarawak's assistant minister for agricultural modernisation.

Ngo, when met after the opening of the SPDP Youth triennial general meeting (TGM) here today, said he was doing it in the interest of the party and not because he had any personal agendas.

Threats against Ngo

He added that although he had received threats not to go ahead with his plan (to contest the post), he viewed it as an "internal family matter" and would not even be making a police report regarding them.

Meanwhile, Nyarok when opening the TGM, urged members to respect the democratic process and accept the majority decision during the party polls.

SPDP Youth chief Tiong King Sing in his speech urged members to throw their support behind Nyarok as it would put Sarawak Barisan Nasional on a stronger footing in facing the upcoming state election.
