The Kuala Lumpur High Court today fixed Sept 27 and 28 to hear a suit brought by TV3 personality Maria Tunku Sabri against a businessman for breaching a promise to pay her RM5.5 million for not marrying her.

Justice Nor Azian Shaari fixed the date in chambers.

Maria's counsel, Sangeet Kaur Deo, when contacted, said both sides were asked to file the documents on the agreed and disputed facts as well as the witness's statements.

He said Maria would be calling one witness while businessman Wan Johani Wan Hussin would be calling two.

The Federal Court on June 24 last year allowed Maria's appeal to re-file her suit against Wan Johani, 57.

In 2004, Maria, 40, host of the "Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan" programme, applied to enforce a promise by Wan Johani to pay her RM5.5 million for not taking legal action against him for breaching a promise to marry her.

In his defence, Wan Johani, denied that there was a contract and alternatively, that the promise was illegal and made under threat and inducement.

Wan Johani was represented by counsel Akhbar Din Abdul Kader while Sangeet was assisted by counsel Rahmath Nisa Segu Alabudin .
