The Deputy Minister of Higher Education Hou Kok Chung was involved in an accident when the car he was travelling in crashed into the rear of a lorry at Km 344 of the North-South Expressway near Tapah, today.

Tapah OCPD Supt Roslan Bek Ahmad said that Hou and his driver were not injured in the incident that occurred at 1pm as they were heading south in a Proton Perdana V6.

When contacted today, Roslan said initial police investigation revealed that the Deputy Minister's car knocked into the rear of the lorry which suddenly made a turn to the right side of the road.

The car was slightly damaged and the driver had lodged a police report while the deputy minister proceeded on his journey to the south in another car.

Police had also taken a statement from the lorry driver concerned, Roslan said.
