A fire broke out on the 22nd floor of a 35-storey semi-completed hotel-cum-office building at Jalan Tun Sambathan in Brickfields tonight.

However, there was no report of a casualty in the fire which broke out about 8pm.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations)Azizan Ismail said seven fire engines with 50 firemen rushed to the scene soon after being informed of the incident.

He said that when the firemen arrived the fire was spreading and then ordered several construction workers who were still working on the affected floor to leave the building.

He said firemen took about an hour to douse the flame.

The Fire and Rescue Department was investigating the cause of the fire and losses incurred, he added.
