Pakatan losing Malay support in Perak

Disgusted: All Perakians take note: if you are living in the big cities and are enjoying the good life there, don't forget your folks back in the villages and rural areas. These people deserve a better lifestyle than they currently have, scrapping the bottom of the barrel to survive.

Make it your mission to get in touch with people in the villages and rural areas and reveal the truth about what is happening. They are not privileged to have such facilities as Internet and so on. The government wants to keep them that way. So you are the only channel for knowledge and information.

We do not want to see the best brains and talent abandoning this country and using it elsewhere.

Fascinated: Pakatan Rakyat, you may have lost even more. When you were busy giving land to the Chinese, the Malays were watching - not only in Perak, but the whole nation. PKR has shown the whole nation that under its rule, Malays are seen to have reverted back to the pre-Mahathir days of being Ali Babas to the Chinese and being their stooges. This is what you get for sucking up to the DAP.

As for the ordinary Chinese, the DAP is for elitist Chinese, and they use the lower-end Chinese as their errand boys. This perception is from I experienced myself, trust me. The rich Chinese will suppress the ‘middle or poor Chinese', who feel that ‘only their kind can be trusted'.

As for Indians, the perception is that they all are coolies, like the ousted Perak assembly speaker V Sivakumar.

So whether it's father, son or grandson, all of these leaders can continue to hoodwink the Malay masses for another 50 years and no one will dare question them.

All it takes is some gifts and cash, and these masses will sign away their rights for years to come. The masses are kept dumb and indoctrinated into thinking that the Chinese are the enemies, so it's okay to take their money.

But it will never be okay to see them sitting side by side with the Malay leaders. As long as the unlucky victims of brutal government agencies are non-Malays, demand by Malay masses for change will never come.

Aramsa: It is unfortunate that the kampong Malay folk cannot see the wood for the trees due to the lies told by the mainstream media. Umno will continue to use racial tactic to undermine the peace and tranquility of the country.

Unless the Malays wake up to such political callousness, it is they themselves who are to be blamed. We are talking about the livelihood of the general masses, including the Malay populace, but Malays talk about the Umnoputras and their cronies.

Police arrest eight over Metro Tabernacle Church attack

WCP: I find it difficult to believe that the church was firebombed on Jan 8, but they arrested the culprit only yesterday as they were seeking medical treatment. That's 12 days' difference.

Ko Pi Ior: Let us be fair to the police. Give them reasonable time to do a thorough job, which should include establishing whether there were sponsors and instigators in these senseless crimes. All of them must be brought to the open and punished for their crimes.

Jstom: Why are they being investigated ‘for causing mischief by fire', when they should be put in cold storage under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for causing the nation to come to the brink of civil disorder? Does Malaysia have different strokes for different folks?

Ong Twee Kwan: Until such time that the alleged culprits are found guilty, the case remains open and not solved. One cannot consider - by arresting a few person for one incident (of Metro Tabernacle) - that the other incidents are deemed to have been solved.

MACC officers raid S'gor exco's office

Habib Rak: As much as I'm aware that there is the element of bias, I would prefer to look at this matter positively. Let the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) be the eyes and ears and the check and balance on the Pakatan government in Selangor.

In the long run, as long as Pakatan is clean and above board, it should be okay. After all, we, too, want Pakatan to be squeaky clean. This will keep all state assemblypersons on their toes, so it's good for the rakyat.

On the other hand, we must also lend support to ensure MACC doesn't bully and blackmail the Pakatan leaders. Selangor exco Elizabeth Wong's rebuke of the MACC officers who wanted to use the back door is a good move.

MACC should be prompted to always be transparent. Why do they need to sneak out? After all, they claim that they are just doing their job.

Karma: Selangor, again? What about Pahang, Perlis, Terengganu, Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Malacca? There is no talk about MACC raiding any of the state government offices there. Even a police report on fund allocation for Tamil schools was taken up within 24 hours.

Selian: What happened to the over-priced hospital ? What happen to Mohd Khir Toyo ? What happened to the RM10 million transfer ?
