PAS is expected to invite non-Muslim leaders to attend its 56th annual general assembly in June, its spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said.

He said the new approach was to allow non-Muslim leaders to understand PAS' Islamic struggles.

"We will invite non-Muslim leaders such as Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, Tourism Minister Dr Ng Yen Yen and several more leaders," he said in his Friday lecture in Kota Bharu.

The assembly is expected to held in Kelantan.

Meanwhile, Nik Abdul Aziz also slammed the media for blowing out of proportion the issue on 'cah keting' (Kelantanese term for sabotage) or back stabbing in the party.

He said such a phenomenon existed in any political organisations.

He regretted that the media had misinterpreted his prayers for God's protection against any ill doings or back stabbing which he made at his weekly Friday lecture last week.

"It (cah keting) is an old issue. In fact, it exists since the time of Habil (Abel) and Qabil (Cain) where fightings happen in a family," he told reporters after his weekly lecture in today.

The Kelantan menteri besar also questioned why the issue was targeted at PAS if there was no ill-intention by certain quarters to create a conflict in the party.
