Zulkifli goes ballistics against Khalid

Tan Kian Khim: PAS leader Khalid Samad is widely recognised as being a leading progressive Muslim intellectual and an MP who is well-respected and admired by both Muslim and non-Muslim Malaysians alike.

I am strictly secular, but I would be very happy to have him as my MP. It is healthy and necessary to have diverse, and sometimes dissenting, voices within a party. But it is quite another thing to have a toxic and destructive character like Zulkifli Noordin, whose conduct is far more in line with Umno than with PKR or Pakatan Rakyat.

Please encourage Zulkifli to join his ideological soul mates in Umno instead - it is worth losing the Kulim Bandar Bharu MP seat to Barisan Nasional.

Budak: It's time to throw Umno-planted bugs out of the Pakatan house. Zulkifli's accusations sounds more like it's coming from Umno than PKR. The rakyat in Kulim Bandar Bharu really must feel idiotic after being fooled by this traitor.

Black Mamba: Zulkifli is the one who should be expelled from PKR for going against the party stand. He should also be jailed for barging into the Bar Council forum like a hooligan.

Tanteo: Anwar Ibrahim, what are you waiting for? Kick this joker Zulkifli out of PKR before he does more damage to Pakatan. He should be in Umno.

Suhkam: Zulkifli is a lawyer trained under Umno scholarship in New Zealand. My opinion is that he is trying to be controversial and he definitely is not stupid, but has a hidden agenda. He wants to be a champion and how else will he capture the media's attention. He knows that the media like such news. Let it be and like UK soccer players, I agree that PKR urgently "sell" him to Umno.

A Parable: Once there was an orchard that had the most beautiful fruits. The orchard had this sign, ‘Please don't pluck the fruits from the trees. Get them from the baskets.' One day the caretaker let in some monkeys. They started plucking fruits from the trees and spoiling the harvest.

Frustrated, the caretaker put up more reminders and notices but the monkeys continued what they were doing until the orchard was finally destroyed... The monkeys can't really be blamed because they can't read, nor can they follow rules. It was the caretaker's fault - failing to get rid of the monkeys.

PAS duo's fate to be announced on Jan 29

Rajm: PAS leader Hasan Ali was against a non-Muslim holding the chief post at Selangor development agency PKNS. That alone suffices for his dismissal from Pakatan as he seems to be a Muslim extremist like many in Umno.

Khalid Samad, however, has demonstrated his statesmanship in representing the human race.

Disgusted: What did Khalid do to warrant disciplinary action? When Hasan criticised Selangor Select Committee for Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat), Khalid merely defended its methods and chided Hassan for criticising them.

Tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of Pakatan supporters were against Hasan on this issue. If PAS doesn't want Khalid, then he should join PKR where he will be wanted and can express his view openly. PAS will lose a very liked and capable leader which the rakyat of Selangor wholeheartedly support for his moderate and balanced views.

Gk: Unfair disciplinary action against Khalid will spell doom for PAS, but I cannot say the same with Hasan. The misconduct by both gentlemen, if any, are of different magnitude, and should not be judged with the same degree.

What is wrong with openly criticising a leader if it was done without malice? Khalid is a rare ‘jewel in PAS'. As for Hasan, I do hope he has admitted his wrong and repented. Only then he will regain the people's respect.

Hello: There is not much time left before the next general election. PAS, PKR and DAP must get rid of dead wood in their midst. Otherwise, they will not be elected by the rakyat to govern. Or worse, they may lose their government due to the katak (frogs) jumping ship. So, clean ship and fill it with committed members.
