Ah Hoe: Well, the US government has certainly lied - one example being the fabrication about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and its so-called previous association with al-Qaeda - in order to attack and occupy Iraq. Tony Blair of Britain also lied with his scare-mongering of Iraq's capacity to strike London in just 45 minutes.
Cala: Dr Mahathir is the spokesman of the East. The basic difference between the West and the East is their approach in the search of knowledge.
In the West, and especially after going through the enlightenment movement, nobody would believe in anything unless and until that thing can be scientifically proven. I repeat scientifically proven.
As a famous saying goes, please do not "assume poignant anecdotes can replace scientific evidence, and christening isolated incidents as trends". Hence, the West is ahead of the East not for nothing. They are there, lucky to them, because they do not have people like Mahathir speaking without solid empirical evidence.
Mahathir's freestyle comment is certainly not condoned in the pursuit of knowledge in epistemology by the West.

Doc: I guess in his twilight years he may have come to realise that his policies created during his years in office has lead to a crumbling nation and thus has become bitter. This bitter man now blames everyone else for his mistakes.
Truthseeker: It would be best for everyone to see the video that Dr M alluded to and then come to your own conclusions. I have watched this video, and I must admit, it does seem convincing.
What really boggles my mind, though, is: If such a thing was staged, how did they pull it off with so many people involved and yet no one's talking?
Kgan: What about the Muslim terrorists who hijacked the planes? Were they CIA agents who willingly sacrificed their own lives and the lives of passengers? To plan and execute an event of that magnitude would involve hundreds people, including planners, demolition experts, engineers, computer simulators, trainers, workers, supervisors, coordinators, building maintenance, hijackers, etc.
And nobody squealed? Not even after the buildings collapsed and thousands died? To believe that the American government planned this is the product of a sick and twisted mind.

TKC: You (Mahathir) were asked to be the keynote speaker for the General Conference for the Support of Al-Quds (GCSQ) inaugural conference. You needed to come up with a memorable speech. A few days before, you happened to watch the 9/11 conspiracy theory documentary as well as the movie ‘Avatar'. Everything clicked.
You weaved a speech around 9/11, ‘Avatar' and your deep-rooted hatred for Jews. You'll be a hero. End result: Adulation inside the conference but condemnation outside it.
Now, you are trying to divert attention to the 9/11 video. But you forgot you said something terrible about our Jewish friends: "The holocaust failed as a final solution". Dr M, you are a menace to our nation. Next time, employ a speech-writer.
Black Mamba : Dr M, you have underestimated the intelligence of Arab Muslims. They are far smarter than our own. Do you think Bush can get his own breed to be suicide bombers? Their motivation are far greater than money.
It looks like you are the one with a dilemma in your twilight years trying to spin stories to catch international attention. All your 22 years of rule, your secrets have been slowly unravelling and more will come out in the open when Pakatan Rakyat comes into power.

RubyStar: Dear Dr M, as a former head of a respectable country, it is unbecoming and irresponsible of you to link the bombing of the World Trade Center to the actions of the US government. It is an insult to the memories of those who died in the bombing.
If you want to hog the limelight again, do so in other ways. Go home and play with your grandchildren. I hope the US government will deny you a visa if you seek to visit the US.
