A labourer who cheated on his pregnant wife was beaten up by six men in the presence of his girlfriend in Jalan Wong Ah Jang in Kuantan yesterday.

Pahang CID spokeswoman ASP Noor Asyikin Shamsuri said the victim, 29, was on his motorcycle with his girlfriend, 36, in front of a restaurant when approached by six men.

"The men suddenly snatched his motorcycle keys and beat him up using crash helmets. The girlfriend managed to escape and contacted police," she told reporters in Kuantan today.

Noor Asyikin said the six men were believed to be relatives of the wife who was pregnant with the victim's second child.

The girlfriend then returned to the scene only to find the victim missing. She then contacted the victim and was told that he had been abducted to his home town of Kemaman, Terengganu.

Police are tracking down the six suspects. The case is investigated under Section 394 of Penal Code.
