Vocal Umno veteran leader Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah’s political fate will be determined by the party’s management committee meeting tomorrow.

“The committee chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin will decide on this matter,” said one of the supreme council members who requested anonymity.

tengku razaleigh.jpg Earlier reports indicated that the Prime Minister had intended to scrutinise Tengku Razaleigh's ( left ) speech made to a gathering at the Sultan Mohammed IV Stadium in Kota Baharu.

 Ku Li had stated differing views with the federal government with regards to oil royalty payment in Kelantan.

Following the speech, Kelantan Umno liaison committee chairman Mustapa Mohamed had called on the supreme council to take action against Ku Li.

Today the veteran Gua Musang parliamentarian seems unfazed with the possible backlash of his speech.

The Kelantan prince claimed that the state deserves the oil royalty and not a compassionate fund.

Meanwhile, Bernama reports, Kelantan Umno Youth has urged the party's Supreme Council to seek explanation from Tengku Razaleigh's over his stand on the oil royalty issue.

Its secretary Bazlan Baharuddin said Tengku Razaleigh should be called up by the Supreme Council to explain why he felt that Kelantan deserved the oil royalty.

"Kelantan Umno Youth is disappointed with Ku Li's stand. However, we want Ku Li to give his explanation," he said at a function in Kuala Krai today.

Gua Musang Wanita Umno division chief Wan Hazani Mohd Nor said the movement was disappointed with Tengku Razaleigh's stand as it would further aggravate the situation.

"Ironically, his (Tengku Razaleigh) stand was different when he was Petronas chairman.

"However, it is not too late for him to rectify the situation," she said.
