PM aide's 'racist' remarks spark outrage

BTN: Umno is a party founded on racism. It’s really no surprise that you have the special aide of the prime minister making such remarks. It makes you wonder what all these Umno politicians talk about over their ‘teh tarik’. There are many cases of such ‘cakap tak serupa bikin' (words that don’t match one’s actions).

MIC, MCA and other so-called BN partners, ponder and think deeply about your status. This Nasir Safar chap should suspended. Even if that happens, the suspension will be lifted a year later, like what happened with Ahmad Ismail.

Jiminy Qrikert: If Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak feigns ignorance about this, then he is betraying his own vision and principles and his ‘1Malaysia’ is just a farcical sham all along. If Najib indeed really does not know, then he is being upended in his own department.

Who in the world can supersede him in terms of authority? Who indeed can go around Najib's back to authorise the issuance of such a statement? If no-one authorised it and there was indeed no prior vetting and sanction, then Nasir must be prosecuted for sedition.

But if this is all part of the bigger plan to rile Chinese and Indians so much that we go down to the streets, then Umno has no idea what we are made of and they have really totally lost touch with the rakyat on the ground.

One wonders if this Nasir Safar is really this stupid as to openly spew his racist vitriol or if he is deliberately sabotaging Najib's ‘1Malaysia’ campaign at the behest of a third party. Kopi O: Nasir Safar has resigned, but the PM has ‘lost face’ due to this incident. I have doubts that this will be the end of the controversy. If the online media continues to report public criticism over Nasir's remarks, they will be blamed for 'misquoting the PM aide' and 'fanning disharmony'.

For DNA evidence to be admissible in a real court (not Umno's court), the chain of custody must be very tight and well-documented. This covers every step from collection, transport, receiving, storage and testing.

Samples must be made available for independent verification. Now they expect to nail Anwar Ibrahim just by asking a government chemist to testify in court that Anwar’s DNA was found on Saiful's anus. That's it?

I would be interested to know the date of the chemist’s report. Is there a way to verify these so-called retrieved samples? How long can semen stay on the anus? Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan didn't have any motion or wash for two days plus? But looks like he keeps himself well-groomed from all the press photos I have seen.

Mayday: Police custody continues to kill people, especially Indians, with impunity. Bad apples in the force  have been emboldened because the other government agencies like the judiciary and the health authorities will go all out to lie and protect their wrongdoings. This is obviously done at the behest and with the tacit approval of the political leadership.

                        

One way the people can protect themselves is by gathering in large numbers in front of the place where the person is being held. The families should then inform their ‘wakil rakyat’ and the nearest member of the opposition and demand that they ensure the safety of the person in custody.

In the meantime someone or an NGO should make a list of all the people who have died in custody and put it on the Internet and circulate it especially among Indians.
