The hearing of a negligence suit filed by a boy scalded by tom yam soup against Amy of the rock band, Search, at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court has been postponed to March 11.
Lawyer Shahrul Azim Azmi, who represented Amy, told the media outside the court, that the hearing was postponed because judge Sabariah Othman, who would hear the case, was attending a seminar in Melaka.
On Sept 24, 2008, Nik Zahir Nik Mohd Idris filed the suit on behalf of his four-year-old son Nik Muhammad Zakwan.
He claimed that an employee of Restoran Cheng Ho in Wangsa Maju was negligent, causing Nik Muhammad Zakwan's back to be scalded.
In the suit, Amy, whose real name is Suhaimi Abdul Rahman, 51, as the owner of Restoran Cheng Ho, was named as the defendant.
On Jan 30 last year, Sabariah allowed an application by Amy to quash the suit, but it was set aside by the High Court on Oct 26 last year and ordered the case be remitted back to the Sessions Court for trial.
