A policeman was among two detained for robbing four students of a private university in Bestari Jaya, Batang Berjuntai near Kuala Selangor last night.

According to Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar, the policeman, a lance corporal, aged 26, and his accomplice, aged 20, are alleged to have robbed four students (all girls) of their hand phones and cash.

Khalid who launched the Asian Professional Security Association (APSA) in Subang Jaya today said during the 12.30am incident, the policeman from the Shah Alam police station had trailed the car driven by one of the four girls before forcing it off the road and robbed the four girls.

He added that acting on the report lodged by the girls, police moved in swiftly and managed to detain the duo who had in their possession, two stolen hand phones, more than RM100 cash.

Khalid said the car that the duo had used during the robbery, belonged to the policeman.

"They will remand the duo for questioning," he said.
