Umno leaders and members who are arrogant and egoistic should change their ways to win the people's heart, Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said today.
He said the party was working hard to win back the people's support after the major setback of the 2008 general election.
"The people hate leaders who kept away from them or were difficult to approach, what more leaders who were proud and arrogant.
"There is not much time left for us to be arrogant as the 13th general election will be held in two years time," Hishammuddin, who is also home minister, told reporters after launching the 'Juara Rakyat' programme in Baling, Kedah.
More than 1,000 people attended the programme at the Dewan Tun Abdul Razak.
Among those present at the launch were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Jamil Khir Baharom, Umno division chief
Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and state BN leaders.
