Malaysia will introduce a new drug to treat erectile dysfunction which will also give men the desire to have sex, a report said Sunday.

"It is good to have a few types of oral medication in the market to treat erectile dysfunction because there is no one type for all men," Mohamad Ismail Tambi, head of the specialist clinic at the Reproductive Research Centre was quoted as saying by the Sunday Star newspaper.

Mohamad said unlike a certain type of pill that enables men to have erection only, the new drug had the added effect of giving men the desire to have sex.

The pill is taken by putting it under the tongue to dissolve, he said, adding that it would be available by year end.

Mohamad said health authorities were evaluating the pill which was available in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. — AFP
