PAS secretary general Mustafa Ali today rubbished complaints by the party's youth exco Abdullah Karim on the alleged participation of its members in a ‘conspiracy to topple the Pakatan Rakyat'.

He explained, "I have gone through his written complaint and checked up with the persons named and the incidents mentioned."

"However, I did not find any basis to his claims," stressed the PAS veteran.

He told Malaysiakini in an exclusive interview this morning that he decided not to refer the case to the disciplinary committee because "Abdullah's allegations do not merit its attention".

On the complaint brought up by Abdul Rahman Talib, a blogger and PAS member who uses the Tulang Besi moniker, Mustafa reserved his comments.

" Tulang Besi' s complaint was submitted to my office just before the Chinese New Year. I was not at the office then," he said.

NONE Based on what he does know of the blogger's claim, Mustafa ( right ) admitted it revolves around allegations that PAS deputy president Nasharuddin Mat Isa had met with bloggers.

On that issue, he said the party has already decided that no senior party official should meet with such persons to avoid allegations of collusion.

However, he said that there are not that many complaints sent to his office and downplayed the few there are as "something normal in politics."

Meanwhile in an unrelated development, Mustafa confirmed that controversial Kulim-Bandar Baru PKR parliamentarian Zulkifli Noordin was in fact, once a PAS member.

"However, since he has willingly joined PKR, automatically he is no longer a party member," he added.
