A literary figure and his family had a harrowing experience when three robbers armed with parang broke into their house at Jalan Pegaga 8/9A, Section 8, Kota Damansara, in Petaling Jaya last night.
In the 9.30pm incident, the writer was not only robbed of his valuables and cash, but also two lap tops where he had stored the draft of his unpublished works, Mohd Ghodzali Abd Rashid, 61, whose pseudonym is Malim Ghodzali PK, told reporters at the scene.
Mohd Ghodzali, who lost about RM40,000, his car key as well as that of his friends, who were at his two-storey terrace house.
"We were in front of the house and one of our friends had gone to his car to take some things.
"As he was walking back to the house, three men who were on two motorcycles came running towards us," he added.
He said the robbers, who were wearing fully-covered crash helmets, then forced them into the house and threatened to injure his youngest son, Emir Yassin, 7, if they shouted for help.
He said his wife Ratnawati Jamil, 47, a senior writer at Primeworks Studio, and their three children and a housemaid were in the house.
