Two cars belonging to the president and deputy-president of the Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS) were hit by molotov cocktails early this morning, an incident said to be over an internal conflict.

The incident occured at about 1:20am this morning, during which time the vehicles were parked within the organisation's Wisma Malaysia Hindu Sanga building in Taman Petaling Utama, Petaling Jaya. 

The front parts of the cars, including the front tires and doors, incurred damages. The front entrance door of the building was also reported to have been damaged by the three fire-bombs.

MHS president RS Mohan said the act of sabotage is believed to have been committed by individuals who are disconted with a decision made by the orgnanisation yesterday.

Mohan said that he and his deputy V Kundasamy were on the first floor of the three-story building when they heard someone shouting.

"When I looked out the window, I saw two men on the road running towards this building shouting, 'Fire! Fire!" he told a press conference today.

Mohad said he was informed by a security officer that he had seen the two men on a motorcycle who were responsible for the incident.

Second incident in two weeks

He said further that in a meeting yesterday involving 30 non-governmental orgnanisations and 80 individuals at the MHS headquarters to discuss the organisation's problems and finances, there were some who disagreed with the decisions reached in the meeting.

MIC vice-president M Saravanan, who was also present in the press conference, said he hopes the police investigate the case  immediately as it was the second incident to have occured targetting members of the organisation.

Saravanan also said he would meet with Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein to ensure that appropriate action was taken against those behind the two attacks on MHS members.

On Feb 25 this year, the front part of the house of a MHS member, R Sitraras, 42, as well as his car were damaged by fire by someone that Sitraras claimed was known to him.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Arjunaidi Mohammed when contacted said the police are in the midst of investigations. He did not rule out saotage.
