A committee will be set up to seek views from various quarters on sex education policy in schools, said Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
A committee will be set up to seek views from various quarters on sex education policy in schools, said Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said the committee would be made up of experts on sex education, biology and related subjects.
"Maybe we can learn from other countries which had introduced the policy," he told reporters after chairing a central committee on school sports development at the parliament here today.
Muhyiddin, who is also education minister, said as sex education was a major issue, it had to be scrutinised before a decision was made.
"Certain quarters have pointed the merits of sex education while others have expressed apprehension. We need to evaluate the views before making a decision," he added.
