Parliamentarian-cum-lawyer Karpal Singh, who held a watching brief for Altantuya Shaariibuu family during her murder trial, has challenged fellow MP Zulkifli Noordin to lodge a police report over his allegations yesterday.

Kulim Bandar Baru MP Zulkifli said in Parliament that he had been asked to implicate Premier Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor in the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder in return for a substantial reward.

NONE Karpal, in the debate on the royal address today, urged Zulkifli to come clean on his allegations and demanded to know why the Kulim Bandar Baru MP was only revealing the information now - four years after the murder trial.

"The Kulim Bandar Baru MP has dropped a bombshell in the Dewan... I challenge him to lodge a police report. Only then can we determine if the report was false, so that he can be prosecuted if he had lodged a false report," said Karpal.

"He is not here today, but I'm willing to meet him outside the Dewan and he should make a statutory declaration on the party which had ask him to link the First Family to the murder," he said.

Zul to meet PM

Later, Zulkifli, when met by reporters at the Parliament lobby, said that his allegation had nothing to do with Karpal and he should stay out of the issue.

"I have said enough yesterday. I will meet the prime minister. They are organising the time of the meeting, and I’m standing my ground," said Zulkifli.

NONE Asked on what he will divulge when he meets with the premier, he said: "That's between me and prime minister. Are you the prime minister?

"Karpal is an extinct dinosaur... my intention was not to embarrass anyone, but to show that the severe culture of slander needs to be nipped in the bud," he said.

At another press conference in the afternoon, Zulkifli accompanied by Bayan Baru MP Zahrain Mohd Hashim, Nibong Tebal MP Tan Tee Beng and Bagan Serai MP Mohsin Samuri, responded to Karpal’s demand that all four of them make way for by-elections in their respective seats.

"How do you know the public is supporting the party? If you can come up with proof that the people voted for us 100 percent because of our party, then you can come and tell (us to step down),” he said.

Asked about the statement by police chief Musa that he will be investigated for his claims he was offered money to implicate Najib and his wife, Zulkifli said:

"It is the duty of the police to investigate, if there is report. When they call, I will see... I will evaluate my situation whether I have to (give a statement to them)," he said.
