your say 'I had no idea that a court of appeal can reverse a judgment by completely ignoring the evidence and findings of the High Court.'

Ex-ISA detainee loses RM2.5 mil court award

Ferdtan: Again the Court of Appeal reversed a sound High Court decision. The decision of Count of Appeal judges MD Raus Shariff, Sulong Matjeraie and Ahmad Maarop is contradictory to the judgment of the High Court judge Mohd Hishamudin.

Without any doubt we the rakyat know what these so-called top judges are up to. Shame on the judges of Court of Appeal and bravo to you, Mohd Hishamudin. You may be a judge in this life but all of us will be judged in the thereafter. Judgment Day is awaiting and hope that the Almighty is merciful.

Daniel Collin Lazaroo: I had no idea that a court of appeal can reverse a judgment by completely ignoring the evidence and findings of the High Court. What kind of an appeal process is this exactly - when all it does is ignores the facts? If it practices ignorance, then it's quite obvious that it's going to come to a different conclusion. What is the basis for this reversal?

Tan Kian Khim: The Court of Appeal has degenerated into a janitorial team specialising in cleaning up Umno's messes. Malaysia seems to have perfected human cloning technology before anyone else: we have multiple clones of Augustine Paul plaguing the nation's judiciary.

Not Confused: The original decision by Mohd Hishamudin Mohd Yunus was clearly the right one, from a man who is completely honourable and whose integrity is without question.

The Court of Appeal has clearly decided in favour of the ruling party once again and shows how partial the judges are in favour of BN. Just give it time - the rakyat will have their day. Just wait...

Justgreat: We the rakyat feel that whatever decision the judiciary makes from 2008 onwards are to benefit only one party. Frankly, there is no use for any cases to be tried if it is against the government of the day as the result is a forgone conclusion.

I hope come GE13, a strong and united opposition front will sweep the country clean of these rubbish politicians and the judiciary, police force, MACC, and others that had in the past oppressed the rakyat. A full review must also be done of all media licences, especially those that had been spewing lies but always get with it - Utusan Malaysia, The Star, Berta Harian, New Straits Times .

Laws such as a race relations act will have to be formulated to prevent racists from spewing false fear into the communities as well as stop the spewing of racial slurs from irresponsible people. Make politicians responsible for their words even when they utter them in Parliament.

KSM: The people will decide come GE13. It's not the politicians we are angry with, it's the judiciary. They have brought shame and disrepute to the very establishment they have vowed to uphold. As a result, the rakyat suffer untold misery. Are we moving back to the Stone Age?

The ruling goverment has not lost a single high-profile case. This goes to show it's either they are really good or they are the worst of the tyrants. Judges, you will be the first to be judged when the time comes. You may serve your masters for now.

Sarajun Hoda: It is this type of judgments that will bring down the BN government in the next elections. People are becoming more disillusioned and the courts are one-sided, serving the interest of the BN government.

The court can fool the people one or two times but not every time. Now it is getting clearer. If you go against the establishment, you don't get a fair trial and an impartial judgment in the Malaysian courts.

Kgen: Another black day for justice. Justice is sodomised again. How can the Court of Appeal overturn the High Court's findings when they were not at the hearing? This shows that the higher you go up, the worse the judges.

The High Court at least has a sprinkling of independent judges. The Court of Appeal almost none and when you reach the Federal Court, zero. Why? Because only obedient judges get promoted. Get it?

Perak Boleh: It has become something like an unwritten precedence set by the Malaysian justice system. When the High court rule in favour for any person against Umno, BN or the government, it will be the job of the stooges from the Court of Appeal and Federal Court to overturn the lower court decisions.

Keturunan Malaysia: The Court of Appeal has always been pealing off justice one layer after another until what's left are just bones to the Malaysians, and funny-bones to the rest of the world.

Tamil Mani: Should any right-thinking Malaysian be surprised by the Appeal Court's verdict?

The judges of the Appeal and Federal Courts of Malaysia are now the laughing stocks of the world. Aren't they ashamed of themselves ... that the stain they have brought amongst themselves and their families will bear upon them for many generations to come?

How can they ever justify their actions when they have failed to uphold the faith placed by their countrymen in upholding truth and justice? What is happening to the pillars of our institutions that was once the pride of our nation?

Dood: What a slap in the face. First his awards are revoked, and then he is made to pay for court costs. Satu lagi projek kerajaan Umno.
