Newly elected MCA president Chua Soi Lek will hold a meeting with all the MCA leaders who are holding government positions at the party headquarters tomorrow.
Among them are newly elected party deputy president and Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai, Transport Minister and former president Ong Tee Keat, Housing and Local Government Minister Kong Cho Ha and
Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen.
"The closed-door meeting is expected to start at 12.30pm," a party source told Bernama here today.
However, the source declined to give further details except saying the new president might want to get feedback and opinions from the party leaders currently holding government positions.
Two of the MCA ministers -Tee Keat and Cho Ha - lost their party
leadership positions in the polls last Sunday.
Tee Keat, the incumbent, was defeated by Chua in the contest for the party president post while Cho Ha lost to Tiong Lai for the deputy president post.
All the other MCA leaders who are ministers and deputy ministers won the vice-president posts or were elected as central committee (CC) members.
Among them is Deputy Finance Minister Chor Chee Heung who was elected as one of the four vice-presidents together with Ng, former deputy tourism minister Donald Lim and former CC member Gan Peng Sieu. - Bernama
